About Women’s Bible Study: Summer 2019
The study and application of God’s Word transforms our hearts and minds in powerful ways. No matter your life stage, or where you are in your faith, we want to help you grow through studying God’s truth. Women’s Bible Studies are the perfect place to mature in your walk with Christ, meet friends and mentors, and find out where God might use you. We meet in both large and small group settings to satisfy different learning styles and relational needs.
Humble Roots: How Humility Grounds and Nourishes Your Soul by Hannah Anderson
Oswald Chambers once said that the best writers are not those who tell you something entirely new but those who articulate that which has been numbly struggling for utterance within you—so that when you read it your spirit resonates with agreement as you rejoice that someone has found words to say what you’ve been longing to say or hear said.
Hannah Anderson has done that in her book on humility. “Humility is accurately understanding ourselves and our place in the world. Humility is knowing where we came from and who our people are. Humility is understanding that without God we are nothing. Without His care, without His provision, without His love, we would still be dust.”
Anchored in the teaching of Jesus, Anderson explores how cultivating humility—not scheduling, strict boundaries, or increased productivity—leads to peace. “Come unto me, all who labor and are heavy laden,” Jesus invites us, “and you will find rest for your souls.”
