Mobilize for the City: Backpack to School

In partnership with Mission Possible, this summer Grace will host a drive for backpacks stocked with school supplies to benefit under-resourced students throughout our city. We will accept donations in the Worship Center lobby on Sundays, July 9-30.

 

Then, join us on Saturday, Aug. 5 for the Back to School Block Party with Mission Possible where these supplies will be distributed to students from our community as they prepare to return to school.

 

How to Participate:

  1. Collect a card in the Worship Center lobby to claim a backpack for a student in one of four grade groups. Taking a card is a commitment to buying and returning a backpack and grade-level school supplies. We are only collecting bags for 200 students, so get one while they last!
  2. Buy a backpack and school supplies using the supply list. You can purchase items from your local store, shop the Amazon Wish List prepared for each grade group – making sure to ship items to your home, or a mix of both!
  3. Fill the backpack with the school supplies and an encouragement card for your student, then pray over the bag and that student as a family.
  4. Return the stuffed bag to the Worship Center lobby in our collection bin on Sunday, July 9, 16, 23 or 30.
