Grace exists to glorify God by guiding people to become like Christ in all of life.
We are a church that engages people in ministry.
“ When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”
At Grace, we believe God’s heart is for lost people. Whether it’s across the street outreach, across the border or across an ocean, we want to equip and empower you to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
A Fall to Serve
This Fall we are excited to mobilize our church to serve. We don’t want to just look after our own needs here as a church but also to consider getting active out there, serving in the community with great organizations. Below are various options to serve in an ongoing way at local schools, prisons, or with the homeless.
Our Ask of You: Pray about getting active in our community. Build margins into your fall schedule and lifestyle so you can have time to be rich in good deeds. Consider volunteering with one of the local organizations below.
We support and partner with several local organizations where you can serve. Read more about these organizations and contact them directly if you’d like to participate in their ongoing ministries or a one-time opportunity.
The goals of Mission: Possible! Austin are to give the greater Austin area Body of Christ opportunity to serve in their own community and show God’s love to others, to give at-risk children a place to thrive and over come obstacles by providing them an environment that offers love and support, to provide the Austin Street community a place to worship and connect to the Body of Christ and to make available community service programs that provide basic home repairs, wellness services, youth development and adult development opportunities.
Grace partners with Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN), comprising of churches, ministries and businesses within the Christian community of the greater Austin area, to form a disaster relief alliance to help those in need.
ADRN Volunteer Training
ADRN trains and equips volunteers to provide for the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of those affected by disaster. ADRN volunteers are often some of the first allowed into affected areas to help clean and rebuild as well as organize and distribute donated items. Visit the ADRN website or email Fred Bahrenburg to learn more.
In 2019, Austin LifeCare joined several other organizations to form The Source. Grace will continue its relationship with The Source, similar to how we worked closely with Austin LifeCare and, in honor of National Sanctity of Human Life Day in January, continue to have an annual offering to support this ministry.
The Source exists to support, care for and equip women by providing high-quality, whole-person health services. Our vision is that every woman in Texas has access to comprehensive, life-affirming reproductive health and pregnancy care. We are compelled by the love of Jesus Christ to love our neighbors by providing excellent, accessible healthcare. The Source joyfully serves clients regardless of age, race, religion, creed, immigration status or sexual orientation.
The God of Hope Ministries provides Christian care and discipleship to men and women incarcerated in Austin and the Central Texas area. As a discipleship ministry, their mission is to teach and model Christ’s love through an intense, focused exposure to His truth. They believe that the love of Jesus Christ, combined with His truth, produces hope (Love + Truth = Hope).
Community First! Village is a 51-acre master planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness. A development of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, this transformative residential program exists to love and serve our neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.
Going on an international ministry trip has the potential of impacting the way you look at life. You will get to meet and interact with our ministry partners in another cultural setting and be exposed to what ministry looks like in their world. God will use these experiences to challenge your world view in a way nothing else can.
If you are interested in participating on a short-term mission trip with Grace, we have a process that ensures you are logistically (passport, TSA pre-check, etc.), physically and spiritually prepared. We will also discuss your ministry involvement and fundraising. If you are interested in an upcoming trip, please email us at email@example.com.
