Adult Discipleship Communities

Communities exist to glorify God by guiding people to become like Christ in all of life as they participate in weekly gatherings.

Adult Discipleship Communities at Grace are structured to encourage, edify and educate while providing camaraderie and partnership with others in similar life stages and/or interests as you. All groups are interactive, with a teacher delivering content, followed by time with one another in conversation, prayer, and connection. We carefully craft each semester’s curriculum to be highly application-driven, which helps foster relational discipleship.

All teaching content and schedules include the following topics, at varying levels for each community based on the life stage or purpose of the group:

  1. Marriage and parenting
  2. Bible
  3. Doctrine
  4. Christian life and ministry (spiritual gifts, serving, etc.)

Communities also frequently host events outside of Sunday morning discussion time, such as game nights, picnics, lunch meetups and campouts. We encourage each group to organize regular activities to help build and deepen relationships within the group.

Teens

Parenting Teens is our equipping community for the teenage years. This is best started when your first child is entering Middle School until they graduate, roughly ages 13-18. Teaching topics include Communicating with your Teen, Discussing Teen Sexuality, Transitioning from Teacher to Coach for your Teen, Learning to Listen to your Teen, and more. Further, the group maintains a close partnership with our Grace Youth pastoral team and what students are studying in Sunday services and Life Groups.

Parents of
Young Adults

Sundays, 11 a.m.
Grace 360 Bldg, Room 201
Description

Those in our Parents of Young Adults Community typically find their first child is entering college or the career stage of life (typically children ages 16-25). While parenting topics still comprise much of our curriculum to help you lead young adult children, we also include discussion of caring for aging parents and caring for your marriage as children begin to leave home.

Empty
Nesters

Sundays, 11 a.m.
Education Bldg, Room C
Description

The Empty Nesters Community is comprised of parents of adult children, ages 23 and on. These individuals find themselves in the season of life where they’re experiencing children leaving home, moving away, and starting their own families. Many Empty Nesters have grandchildren and are married, though neither is required to participate. Topics of discussion include ways to counsel and advise your children as they navigate adulthood and parent their children, caring for elderly parents, and fostering healthy relationships in this stage of your life.
